Deacon Lawrence R. Michaels' Obituary
Deacon Lawrence (Larry) Raymond Michaels died in his home on Oct. 28, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 7, 1935, in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Henry and Mayme Michaels. After graduating from Central High School in La Crosse, he attended La Crosse State, University of Southern California and Marquette University. He received his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 1959, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, wh Known for his love of the Lord, faithfulness and service to the Catholic Church, Larry was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church in 1981 and served the Church of the Resurrection and St. Mary Parish until 2010. He taught Scripture classes for the Dioc Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean; two brothers, Fred and Doug; sister, Kathy; five children and their spouses, Tony and Claire Michaels, Ron and Jennifer Michaels, Robert and Sondra Michaels, Susan Woods, Barbara and Michael Bovee; and nine Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant House, PO Box 85099, Los Angeles, CA 90072.
