Danny Wayne Reed's Obituary
Danny W. Reed passed away August 7, 2023 from covid pneumonia.
Danny is survived by his wife of 28 years, Victoria Reed; his daughter Tracy Lee Reed, and her children Josh and Elinor; his son Brian Keith Reed, and wife Dawn, and their children Roy and Cortney; his step-son Aaron Huisman, and wife Tiffany and their children Taitum, Payton, and Blake. Additional surviving family members include two sisters, Nancy Kendall and Lynn Graves. He was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Jessica Reed.
Danny served in the US Marine Corp Reserves for eight years. He was especially proud of his service with San Miguel Fire District (formerly known as Spring Valley Fire Department), where he retired as Division Chief after 24 years of service. After retirement, Danny was active in his community as a member of Kiwanis, and other organizations.
Danny loved to golf, travel, and work on projects around their home in Ramona. Danny and Victoria traveled the U.S. in their motorhome, often with family and friends, playing golf and seeing the country. His love of U.S. history and military events took them to many Revolutionary and Civil War battlefields.
In 2021 Danny, learned of Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T), which assists catastrophically injured veterans, Gold Star families, and fallen first responder families. Danny established San Diego Golf Fore Heroes Charity Tournament benefiting T2T. Because of his dedication to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, his committee will carry on the tournament in 2024 in his honor.
The Celebration of Danny Reed’s Life will be held on September 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at San Vicente Golf Resort, 24157 San Vicente Road, Ramona, CA 92065.
