Daniel Bennett Carr's Obituary
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ann; children, Tammy Ann Carr, Daniel Bennett Car II (Maureen), and Dana Susan Carr; grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth Begg, Katherine Mary Begg, Richard Daniel MacKenzie Begg and Samantha Roper-Krone; brother, Stephen Warren Carr; and countless nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Meling Carr. His father worked in the Foreign Service so he was raised primarily in Latin America before moving to Chula Vista at the age of 16. At this young age, he worked at Bearing Engineering in San Diego in order to help provide financial support for his family Daniel married Sue Ann Crabbe on May 16, 1959 in Chula Vista. The family moved to Vista in 1962 when Mr. Carr bought Whitey's Auto Parts & Machine Shop, changing the name to Carr's Auto Parts & Machine Shop. The business grew over the years, to five sto Daniel was a member of the City of Vista Planning Commission from 1970 - 1978, served as a City Council member from 1978 until 1982, and also served as Mayor from 1981 - 1982.
