Constance "Connie" Bryers' Obituary
Connie was born in Columbus, Ohio to parents Freda Reasoner Oare and Walter Mitchell Oare. She graduated from high school and attended Ohio State University. At the age of 19 while working as a secretary for National Electric Coil she met and married the love of her life, Harvey Bryers January 31, 1941 as the country was pulling out of a depression and a war already raging in Europe loomed on the horizon.
In 1942 Connie pregnant with their first child moved to Cincinnati when Harvey was accepted into a government-engineering program at the University. They would eventually move to Dayton, Ohio, where Harvey worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Connie was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, her friends spanning decades, and each dog with whom she shared her life. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist and vocalist. For years Connie was involved in her children’s lives spending hours in volunteer work with PTA. Her real gift to everyone she met was the unique ability to listen.
Connie’s keen intelligence, joy of life, kindness toward all and interest in the world around her will make her passing a great loss for all who knew her. As age began to take a toil on her physical being, she never dwelled on those problems. Instead she met each day with a warm smile and wonderful sense of humor, exuding confidence
to all who came into her life.
