Connie Saffiote's Obituary
Diagnosed with brain and lung cancer on April 28, 2011, Connie Saffiote never gave up. She never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future even through radiation and chemotherapy treatments. She died at home on September 24, 2011. Connie Colia was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She was the youngest of nine children. They moved to Escondido when Connie was ten years old. She attended Central Elementary School and Escondido High School. During high school, she met her future husban Filled with compassion and interest in others, Connie was an active volunteer. She spent many years as a "Pink Lady" at Palomar Hospital and most recently was a docent at the Victorian House in Grape Day Park and a member of the Grandmother's Club. Having graduated in 1949 from Escondido High School, Connie was very involved in her high school reunions. Best known for her baking, she once baked 1800 cookies by herself for her 2001 Class Reunion. You are truly blessed if you've ever eaten one of he An Open House, celebrating her life, will be held at her home on Saturday, October 29th, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All family and lifelong friends are invited.
