Coleen Fulmer's Obituary
Coleen Elizabeth Fulmer, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, surrounded by loving family. Coleen was born on December 17, 1955, on a military base in the Philippines, to the late Junior Lee Fulmer and Betty Maize Fulmer.
She loved being part of a big family growing up. When she was young she enjoyed riding horses and just being with her friends and siblings. She graduated from Ramona High School in 1974. Coleen worked as a bank teller before devoting her love and time to being a stay-at-home mother. Wishing to raise her family with a deep sense of faith, she went to church every Sunday until she was older when she continued to watch services on TV.
Her life took her to many parts of the country and world. Never one to back down from a challenge, she immersed herself in whatever city, state, and country in which she was living. Deeply influenced by her passionate love of God, Coleen made sure to help every community she moved to over the years. She was a Girl Scout cookie mom, an English teacher in Japan, and active in multiple churches over the years. She supported and participated in many charity events for local fire departments, non-profits, and military support groups.
Coleen also loved herself a pot of coffee or a good margarita. She was happiest just sitting on a patio chatting away with her friends and family. Similarly, she enjoyed sitting in the stands at baseball games and cheering on the Padres & Nationals. Music was another joy of her life; she never passed up an opportunity to rock out at concerts. We hope you can remember her the next time one of her favorite songs comes on the radio.
Remaining to cherish Coleen’s memory are her children, Gina Gonzalez, Laura Personius, Kasey Branting, & Matthew Fulmer; her grandchildren, Jovan Valadez, Jesse Valadez, Oscar Gonzalez Jr., Gianna Gonzalez, Paxton Branting, & Alekxander Branting; and her sisters, Marylou Nowakowski & Patricia Morris. Preceding Coleen in death are her parents, Junior Lee Fulmer & Betty Maize Fulmer; her siblings Donna Rae Peterson, Ronald Fulmer, Karen Fulmer, John Peterson, Robert Johnson, & Bruce Fulmer.
Coleen loved taking an active role in charity work most profoundly with Muscular Dystrophy Associations’ fundraisers and events. She would love to have her devoted advocacy honored with memorial donations being directed to either the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Dementia Society of America.
