Christine H. (Simpson) Sherry passed away after a long illness, on Jan. 7, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family. Born on Sep. 23, 1934, in Edinburgh, Scotland, Christine immigrated to America when she was 19 and never looked back. She spent the last 50 years of her life enjoying her hilltop retreat in Escondido. Christine enjoyed a variety of careers, from nursing (for which she trained in London, England) to catering to real estate, embracing each one with gusto, but she often said that her greatest achievement was her three kids. Christine is survived by her three children: Susan Shaw Sambuceti (Ed), Janet Shaw Rodriguez (Arthur), and Christopher Shaw (JoAnn); as well as four grandchildren, Dylan and Katharine Sambuceti and Makena and Jordan Shaw.
