Charles Henry Bell's Obituary
Charles Henry Bell passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 5, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on December 22, 1937, in Coweta, Oklahoma.
Charles lived a life rooted in faith, service, and family. A proud veteran of the United States Army, and a dedicated career with the fire service, retiring as a Fire Captain with the Hawthorne Fire Department in March 1985.
More than anything, Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He found his greatest joy in his family and took immense pride in watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow and thrive.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie Bell; his children, Charles H. Bell IV (Jacqueline), Dan York, David Bell, and Maria Gowin (Kevin); his grandchildren, Vincent (Molly), Tony (Sue), Danielle (Dylan), Kenny (Becca), Stevy (Trisha), Morgan, Stephanie, Victoria, Taylor; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Willow, Dominic, Turner, Rhone, Carter, Isla, Hunter, Meadow, Remington, Callum, Kimber, Ziggy, Josie, Judah and Levi
Charles will be remembered for his storytelling, humor, and his volunteer service. He served the California Army Reserves for nearly two decades as Lieutenant Colonel, Chaplain for the Army and LA County Prison Ministry; and the service organizations Rotary, Elks, and Optimist. He leaves behind a legacy of service, kindness, and devotion that will live on in all who loved him.
"A life well lived, a man well loved, and a legacy that will never be forgotten"
