Carol J. Hayward, 73, of Poway passed away August 5, 2024. Carol was born in Miami, FL, to Dorothy (Dottie) Lutz (Haarr-Stern) and Otto Stern Jr. Throughout her life, she was a passionate genealogist and researcher, dedicating countless hours to helping friends and family find lost or missing relatives. In addition to her research, Carol was a devoted homemaker who took great pleasure in creating beautiful quilts. She had a deep love for San Diego, often capturing its moments through photography in her free time, and she found joy in the company of her cats. Carol was also an enthusiastic fan of British television.
She is survived by her three children, Jeremiah (and wife Tracy), Matthew, and Eva, along with her granddaughter, Hannah, and her siblings, Cathy, David, and Christine.
