Mr. Mitchell is survived by his parents, Harriet and Jack Mitchell; brothers David Bradley (Judith), and Steve Mitchell (Teresa). He graduated from the Prairie School in Racine, Wis. and Stetson University in Deland, Fla. He served as chief administrator of Lincoln Lutheran Home in Racine for 12 years before moving to Rancho Bernardo in 1985.
