Betty Howell Bassett's Obituary
Mrs. Bassett is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don Bassett; sons, Frank Bassett (Merrie), and Steve Bassett (Anne); five grandchildren, Cyril, Cameron, Samuel, Tyler and Emma. She graduated from Escondido High School in 1940, and attended UC Berkley. She was born in Colton CA and moved to Escondido as an infant with her parents, Zora and Gordon Howell. During the war years, while working in a women's retail store in San Diego, she met a handsome Marine pilot from Missouri.
