Benedict C. Grage
April 20, 1942- March 3, 2015
Ben entered into rest on March 3, 2015with his loving wife by his side. He was 72 years of age.
Ben was born in Los Angeles and raised in Shakopee, MN where he was known as the ultimate athlete and received many academic honors. He graduated from St. John University in MN with 2 master Degrees and received his CPA from DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Before retiring, he owned and operated a freight forwarding company in San Diego for 22 years. He loved the theater, music, playing cards and games. Ben was an avid reader and a gifted communicator.
Ben is survived by his wife of 37 years Carolyn Grage, brothers Tom Grage, Jim Grage, sisters Mary Jo Lebens, Lori Whipps, extended family and many close friends. He was preceded in death by brothers Jack Grage, Robert Laddusaw and God-son Carter Lebens.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM. At Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 3459 Manchester Ave, Cardiff By The Sea, CA 92007. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Church - Bereavement Support Group or to the SD Alzheimer's Association, 6632 Convoy Ct., San Diego, CA, 92111.
Ben was a kind and gentle soul. He is loved and will be missed. Forever in our hearts. May his memory be eternal.
