Barbara J. Haley's Obituary
Barbara J. Haley-Frederick (Age 82) passed away peacefully in our family home on Nov 23, 2021. She “Lived a Great Story”. She is the daughter of Elmer and Gertrude Ritchie. She was born in San Diego with her twin sister - Beverly and grew up in Ramona. She had an older brother – Lefty. Her family were pioneers in Julian California. In 1959, she married the love of her life, Hugh Haley, and celebrated twenty-five years of marriage until Hugh passed away from cancer. Barbara was the mother of two children: Linda Haley and Steve Haley. She is survived by her children -Linda and Steve, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In 1964, Hugh and Barbara joined Emmanuel Faith Community Church. They were faithful and active in EFCC, and both served with Sunday School and Wednesday Night Junior High program at the church as well as the Visitation team. She loved her church family in every way. Barbara was a warm and caring person and touched many hearts in an incredible way. She had a wide circle of friends and treasured each friendship. Her hobbies included: Cat Lover, Mother, Friend, Seamstress, Cooking and Baking, Gift of Hospitality, Hosting Family Gatherings, Care Giver and She was a Gifted Writer.
After Hugh’s death (1984), Barbara launched her Legal Secretary career working for Roy Garrett, Gordon Meyer and Frank Thompson. She worked in this profession for 21 years. She was active in her grandchildren’s lives, Ryan and Morgan Haley and active with all her lifelong friendships (classmates, family, and friends). She loved God with all her heart and desires for everyone to have a personal relationship with Him too. She is celebrating in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was a devoted daughter (she was the faithful care provider for her mother for 30 years), caring sister to Beverly and Lefty, a loveable mother and grandmother, devoted wife to Hugh and went the extra mile for his care with cancer, a faithful believer in Jesus Christ, a loyal friend and family member to all and caring neighbor on her street. She Lived a Great Story. On Tuesday November 23 – She heard “Well done good and faithful servant” Matthew 25:23
