Audrey Jean Rhamy's Obituary
Audrey Jean Rhamy, 90 years old, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruby and Annas Swenson, brothers Gaylord and Melbourne Swenson, daughter Debra Ann Rhamy and husband John D. Rhamy. Audrey, the oldest of five children, was born in Iowa on July 12, 1928. She married John Rhamy in June 1951. They moved to California when John was hired as a Design Engineer with General Dynamics-Convair division in San Diego. They settled in Escondido and raised three children; Steven Rhamy, Linda (Richard) Craig, and Michael (Cynthia) Rhamy. John and Audrey were married for over 60 years.
Audrey was an adored wife and beloved mother. She was a loving grandmother to Jeff Craig, Joe Craig, and Michelle (Ben) Bowers. She has eight great grandchildren. In 2015, Audrey moved to Valley Center to live with her son Michael and his wife Cynthia.
Audrey was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Escondido for 40 years. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, putting puzzles together, and crocheting lovely blankets for gift giving.
Audrey will be buried at Ft. Rosecrans Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held in July 2019 with Alhiser-Comer Mortuary. In liu of flowers, donations to American Parkinson’s Association or the Michael J. Fox Foundation are encouraged.
