Antonia Cortez Hurtado's Obituary
Antonia went to the Lord on May 12,2021. Antonia was born on August 13,1938 in Acuitzeramo, Michoacan, Mexico. Antonia was a longtime resident of Escondido & Temecula.
Antonia will surely be missed, as this Angel of ours will now live in the heavens above along side her parents, Leo and Ruth Cortez, her sister Maria Luisa Cortes, her brothers Daniel Cortez, Michael Cortez, Jesus Cortez, Daniel Hurtado, and her great-grandson Ryker Fewster. She has left behind her children, Robert, Rudy, Rosa, Elena, and Isabel, along with thirteen grandchildren, Maureen, Melissa, Marcos, Corinne, Venesa, April, Jessica, Michael, Monica, Kayla, Lindsey, Alyssa and Selena, along with twelve great-grandchildren, Marcos, Jr., Gianna, Antonio Jr., Brenden, Catalina, Emma, Alejandro, Leo, Mateo, Deagan, Mateo and Danica, along with her sisters, MaryAnn Morrissey and Consuelo Melgoza, along with her brothers, William Cortez, Jose Cortez, Leo Cortez, Jr., and Ruben Cortez. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Antonia had many creative talents including making flower arrangements. Antonia did beautiful work sewing and crocheting decorative pillows, bedspreads and doilies.
She loved spending time with her family and especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Antonia loved to cook for everyone. A couple of her family traditions that she carried to her family were her famous tamales & her posole soup. She continuously celebrated family birthdays & holidays with lots of food, cake, jello, & ice cream.
Antonia was a loving Mother, Sister, Friend, Aunt, Cousin, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother.
Antonia lived a life inspired by her Catholic faith. She loved to say her prayers and worship with her rosary.
Our hearts will forever be full of memories, when we speak of you. We will remember you with pride as life continues on. It will never be the same. You will forever be loved and always be in our hearts.
Antonia was laid to rest at Oak Hill Memorial Park, in Escondido, California.
