Anne Odile Sanchez's Obituary
Anne Marie Odile Sanchez was born April 8, 1948 in Arneguy, France, in the Pyrenees mountains to Pedro Juan and Matilda Etchemendy. In 1949 Pedro left the Basque country to pursue the American Dream. During this time Anne remained in Arneguy with her mother. After sheep herding and milking cows Pedro saved enough money to own his own dairy in Barstow CA. In 1951 Anne moved to the US with her mother and brother Mathieu Etcemendy at the age of 2 to live with Pedro in Barstow. During the year 1969 she met the love of her life Alex P Sanchez at Barstow community college, They were soon engaged; while Alex served in Vietnam, Anne was earning her bachelor's and teaching credential at San Diego State University. After his tour in Vietnam Alex and Anne married September 18th 1970. They had 3 children Aaron , Matthew and Pilar. Anne worked for San Marcos Unified school district at Woodland Park Elementary and Knob Hill school as a teacher from grades 2nd through 4th. After retiring in 2009 Anne was seen driving friends to and from church watching any one of her 10 grandchildren, serving the poor, praying the rosary and helping others in RCIA. Anne’s number one purpose in life was to serve Jesus through Mary and always put family first. She is survived by her 3 children, and 10 grandchildren. Anne is currently living in paradise with the love of her life Alex in heaven with our Lord Jesus!
