Alexa Lyn Barbin's Obituary
Born March 4, 1999, at Pomerado Hospital, Alexa's parents lovingly referred to her as "Boo." She lived in Escondido her entire life and graduated from Escondido High School in 2017, where she was a member of FFA. She raised a lamb and found great joy in raising chicks. Alexa spent all four of her high school years on the floral team, and had recently become the floral coach for Escondido High School.
Alexa went on to study floraculture at Southwestern College, where she was an honor student. In October 2017, she launched Alexa Blu Floral Design through which she displayed true artistry in her stunning arrangements. While floraculture was her passion, Alexa's second favorite subject of study was English. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, and listening to music.
Alexa loved spending time with her family at the river and desert, and had recently traveled to San Francisco for her 19th birthday celebration with her boyfriend Kody to see her favorite bands, Asking Alexandria and Black Veil Brides. She cherished trips to Dallas to visit her grandparents, and was especially close with her maternal grandmother. Alexa had great hopes of pursuing a career as a florist and of someday having a home where she could nurture a beautiful garden and raise chickens of her own. She loved aqua marine as it was her birth stone, always rooted for the underdog, and was admired and respected by all who knew her.
Alexa is survived by her parents, Alan and Apryl Barbin, her paternal grandmother, Sharon Barbin, her maternal grandparents, Joyce Blue and Robert and Ellen Johnstone, and her maternal uncle, Andrew Johnstone.
