She is survived by her husband, Rudy Velasquez; sons, Fernando Gonzalez and Rudy Velasquez Jr.; daughters, Luanna Ramirez, Julia Mae Velasquez, and Hannah Marie Velasquez; father, Jose Gutierrez; grandchildren, Victoriana and Fernando Miguel Gonzalez; brothers, Rolando, Sergio, Joselin, and Mario Gutierrez; sisters, Velia Gutierrez and Myrna Gutierrez Melchor. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amada Gutierrez and brother, Jose Oscar Gutierrez Jr.

Rosa was born in Los Angeles, CA and was raised in El Paso, TX. Rosa was a track star in high school where she competed in regional and state competition which ultimately prepared her for a lifetime hobby of long distance running. Rosa graduated from Riverside High School in 1980. Rosa met and fell in love with her future husband in 1981 while working together at Smack's Restaurant. In 1982, Rosa was engaged to her future husband when an on-and-off again romance culminated in their marriage in 1990. Immediately following their wedding day, they moved to San Diego, CA and made it their home for 20 years. Rosa enjoyed running and baking and devoted herself to her husband, children, and her faith in God. Rosa was a member of Mission San Luis Rey Parish of Oceanside, CA.

Rosa will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Rosa will forever be in the hearts and minds of her husband and beautiful children as they will be in hers. Rosa will meet them again in heaven where they will be together for eternal happiness.
