She is survived by her husband, Tom; daughter, Zaklina and husband Jerry; son, Tommy and fiance, Jennifer; brother, Rade; sisters, Sladjana and Todorka; and grandchildren, Ethan and Sienna.

Lena was born in Macedonia. She was the third of four children born to Velko and Zravka Vanevska. She married young and immigrated with her husband to the United States in 1974 where they settled in Escondido.
|
As a young immigrant, she held various jobs in order to make ends meet. Through hard work and diligence her husband steadily built a successful landscaping business, which enabled her to stay home and care for her two children, while tending to the company's finances. She felt privileged to be a homemaker and mother. She was a devout Christian, a wonderful wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother and a trusted friend to many. Lena was an example to so many of what it means to enjoy life, savor your family, and be grateful to God for the many blessings He provides. Lena is already sorely missed. Though her life was not full in length, it was full of love.
