Leona is survived by her children, Sabrina Haaff, Debra Rico, Shirley Rhodes-Grijalva, James Arnold and Michael Gray; a brother, George Mathans; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband I.D. (Dave) in 2000.

Leona married I.D. (Dave) Arnold on April 29, 1955. For many years Leona worked as an LVN at many San Diego County Hospitals including Palomar in Escondido and the VA Hospital in La Jolla. She enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy and gardening but most of all she loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
