Chip is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, three months and seventeen days, Connie; his children, Dave (Terri) Noel, Tina Diemer (John), Rob Noel (Jennifer), Joy Deubig (Jim), Heather Noel and Joyce Pinegar; his twelve grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Matt, Erin, Sam, and Tori Noel; Taylor Pinegar; Drew, Griffin and Madison Diemer; Cameron and Audrey Deubig; and his older sister, Donna (John) Wassdrop. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Helen Noel; and his grandsons, Bryan and Brennan Diemer. |
Chip was born in Wocester, Mass. In 1947, his family moved to San Diego where his parents started Noel's Bakery. Growing up near the beach, Chip enjoyed surfing. At the age of 14, he met the love of his life and future wife, Connie Drew. He graduated from La Jolla High School in 1962 and went on to join the Navy as a submariner and served upon the U.S.S. Capitane. |
After his time in the Navy, Chip became a pastry chef at Kona Kai on Sherlter Island and the Ocean House. He went to work for Standard Oil in 1966. In 1971, he opened Chip's Chevron in Rancho Penasquitos. He would go on to own and operate this service station for the next 30 years. After selling the station, Chip came out of retirement and worked at the Home Depot in Escondido for the last ten years. |
In his life, Chip was a loving husband, a caring father and a devoted grandfather, who touched many people's lives. Chip also loved camping with his family, and was an avid Chargers Fan. |
