Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Ethel; brothers, William (Archie) and Kenny; and sister, Mary. He is survived by Avis, his loving wife of 64 years; sons Vernon, Robert, and Earl; daughter Carol Peters; brother Jerry; sister, Kathy Thompson; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Ralph joined the Navy in 1943 and served as a hard-helmet driver on the aircraft carrier USS Gilbert Island during WWII.

Ralph taught adult education welding at Escondido High School and Palomar College during the 1950's. He and his good friend, Albert George became partners in George & Krogh Welding Corporation in 1954. An Adventurous and intelligent man, Ralph was a pilot, motorcyclist, hunter, and loved to dance. He was active in Boy Scouts, the SoCal Antique Motorcycle Club, Jeep Club, RV Club and Country western dancing.
